With the help of the Midwest Montessori Teacher Training Center, Meca-Seton Teacher Education Center, AMS, and the Deerfield Montessori Schools, three Africans came to do their Montessori internship at the Deerfield Montessori Schools. As a result, the Victoria Montessori School was founded by Lawino Christine Kijange and husband Olanya Joseph Okwonga in 2001.
